Course Overview

What this course is designed to develop

Whiteboard animation is the hand-drawing-on-a-page explainer style used by SaaS companies, schools, and YouTube educators to make abstract ideas concrete. This course walks a complete beginner from a one-page script and a numbered storyboard through asset creation in Adobe Illustrator and free libraries, into building the animation in VideoScribe and the open-source Manim engine, and out the other side with voiceover sync, sound design, render settings, and an invoice. Every lesson uses real software, real frame counts, and worked timing examples so you can ship a paid 90-second explainer, not just a demo.

Learning Outcomes

What the learner should be able to understand, build, or execute.

01

Write a tight, benefit-led explainer script paced to roughly 150 words per minute of finished video

02

Build a numbered storyboard that maps each script line to a drawn frame, an asset list, and a duration

03

Create and source hand-drawn SVG vector assets in Adobe Illustrator and free libraries with clean draw-on paths

04

Animate a whiteboard scene in VideoScribe using draw, move-in, and morph with controlled pacing

05

Produce data-driven and mathematical whiteboard sequences in the open-source Manim engine

06

Sync animation to recorded voiceover, add sound design, render at delivery spec, and hand off to a client
