Course Overview

What this course is designed to develop

This course turns a pile of damaged or ill-fitting clothes into a repair-and-alteration skill set you can use for life or for paying clients. You will set up and troubleshoot a sewing machine, master the four core hand stitches, and complete real projects: a blind-hem trouser, a replaced jeans zipper, a taken-in side seam, and a sashiko-reinforced denim patch. Every technique is taught with named tools, specific needle and thread sizes, seam allowances in millimetres, and worked tolerances so your results look professional rather than homemade.
