Course Overview

What this course is designed to develop

This beginner course teaches non-accountants how to read and interpret the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement. Through worked examples, named ratios, and red-flag checklists, you will learn how the three statements tie together. By the end you can pick up a 10-K or a vendor's accounts and form a defensible opinion in minutes.

Learning Outcomes

What the learner should be able to understand, build, or execute.

Read an income statement and trace revenue down to net income through each margin line

Distinguish operating, investing, and financing cash flows and reconcile them to net income

04

Calculate core ratios (current, quick, gross margin, ROE, debt-to-equity, interest coverage) and explain what each reveals
