Course Overview

What this course is designed to develop

Prototyping is the fastest way to make an idea real enough to test — before you invest weeks building something nobody wants. This intermediate course covers the full prototyping toolkit: fidelity frameworks, paper and digital methods, Figma interactive components, micro-interactions, and structured usability testing. By the end you will have a repeatable process for turning any concept into a testable prototype, running feedback sessions, and iterating with confidence.

Learning Outcomes

What the learner should be able to understand, build, or execute.

01

Choose the right fidelity level for any stage of a design project

02

Build low-fidelity paper and wireframe prototypes that surface real usability issues

03

Create interactive Figma prototypes with transitions, overlays, and component states

04

Design meaningful micro-interactions that guide users without distraction

05

Plan and run a usability testing session on a prototype and extract actionable insights

06

Apply a structured iteration loop to improve prototypes based on evidence, not opinion

Module 1

Module 1: Fidelity, Speed, and the Right Tool for the Moment

Understand the spectrum of prototype fidelity, why choosing the wrong level wastes time, and how to match your method to your question. Covers the core frameworks designers use to make fast, confident decisions about what to build and test.
