Course Overview

What this course is designed to develop

This course teaches anyone who lives in spreadsheets and Google Analytics to replace manual screenshot reports with a single Looker Studio dashboard that refreshes itself and that clients can open by link. You will connect the GA4, Search Console, and Google Sheets connectors, understand how a data source's fields, types, and aggregation drive every chart, and build scorecards, time-series, tables with heatmaps, bar and pie charts, and geo maps. You then add date-range controls, drop-down and input-box filters, filter controls scoped to specific charts, and report-level versus page-level filters; blend GA4 sessions with Sheets cost data on a join key to compute ROAS; write calculated fields using CASE, CONCAT, REGEXP_EXTRACT, and date functions; and finish by theming the report, setting viewer versus edit sharing, scheduling PDF email delivery, and embedding a live iframe. Each lesson works from concrete GA4 and Search Console data and flags the real traps: sampling, data freshness, blend left-join behavior, and the GA4 (other) row.

Learning Outcomes

What the learner should be able to understand, build, or execute.

01

Connect GA4, Google Search Console, and Google Sheets data sources and configure field types, aggregation, and data freshness

02

Build the core chart set including scorecards, time-series, tables with conditional formatting, bar, pie, and geo maps

03

Add date-range controls, drop-down list filters, and chart-scoped filter controls, and apply report-level versus page-level filters

04

Blend two data sources on a join key to combine GA4 sessions with Sheets ad-spend and compute metrics like ROAS and CPC

05

Create calculated fields using CASE, CONCAT, REGEXP_EXTRACT, and date functions to bucket, clean, and label dimensions

06

Theme, publish, share with viewer or edit access, schedule email delivery, and embed a live dashboard in a website
