Course Overview

What this course is designed to develop

Learn to keep common houseplants alive and thriving by understanding the four levers that actually matter: light, water, soil, and roots. You will measure light in foot-candles, water by weight and the finger-and-meter test, blend aroid and succulent mixes, repot without killing the plant, and run a fertiliser schedule. By the end you can diagnose yellowing, treat root rot, knock out the four most common pests, and propagate new plants for free.

Learning Outcomes

What the learner should be able to understand, build, or execute.

Measure indoor light and match plants to bright, medium, or low conditions

Repot a root-bound plant correctly and choose the right pot size and material

05

Run a dilute fertiliser schedule and read deficiency symptoms

06

Diagnose yellowing and root rot, and eradicate the four most common pests

07

Propagate plants by stem cutting, division, and water or sphagnum rooting
