Course Overview

What this course is designed to develop

Event design is graphic design under real-world pressure: fixed dates, physical scale, a printer deadline you cannot move, and screens of every size. This course teaches the craft of building an event brand and then systemising it into deliverables that hang together, the programme, wayfinding and signage, stage and lower-third graphics, social and digital screens, and merchandise. You work in Figma, InDesign, and Canva, learn print and large-format specs, and finish able to design, package, and hand off a complete conference identity that survives contact with vendors and a live show floor.

Learning Outcomes

What the learner should be able to understand, build, or execute.

01

Translate an event brief into a coherent visual system with a logo lockup, type pairing, colour, and a flexible graphic motif

02

Build a print-ready conference programme and badge using InDesign or Canva with correct bleed, margins, and CMYK setup

03

Design a full wayfinding and signage suite sized for large-format print, from directional arrows to stage banners

04

Produce stage graphics, holding slides, and lower thirds at 1920 by 1080 that read from the back of a room

05

Create a social and digital-screen kit with templated speaker cards, countdowns, and sponsor frames

06

Package the whole identity into a brand guide and an organised handoff file that vendors and a print shop can use without you

Module 1

Module 1: From Brief to Event Brand System
