Course Overview

What this course is designed to develop

This course takes you from never having held a stick to playing solid grooves and fills behind real songs. You will learn matched and traditional grip, the single stroke, double stroke, paradiddle, and flam, how to read drum notation on a five-line staff, the rock, funk, and shuffle grooves that drive most popular music, and how to set up and record an electronic kit. Each lesson pairs a clear technique with a concrete drill, a target tempo on the metronome, and a worked example so progress is measurable.

Learning Outcomes
